Are you trying to cope with the Dutch music culture? It just happens so rarely that you find a place where they play anything besides electronic music. Het spijt me.
My favourite story: I was at a party. Organized by Dutch people in the Netherlands. I asked, whether they also had music to which one could dance. They looked at me in a weird way and said: ‘We are playing ‘dance music’ the entire evening already.’ When I would say what sort of songs I liked to dance to, they would reply it does not have any beat and dancing to that kind of stuff is simply impossible.
